First Sewing Project!

>So, since being done with work in October I have picked up a few hobbies. One of them is sewing. Seeing as I happen to know a WONDERFUL seamstress who just happened to make my wedding dress (Mom aka Crafty Candy) I decided to have her teach me how to sew. These are some pictures of my first project. A bunting for my friend Jen's baby girl due in March as well! I can't wait to start on my next projects and presents for other babies on the way!!

Feeling Sad :(

Today I received news that a friend passed away suddenly due to complications with the flu/pneumonia. He was a great listener, wonderful friend who would help out anyone at any time and and the type of person that could relate to anyone about just about anything. I had the pleasure of working with him many long sometimes frustrating nights at the bar and he could always make me smile even when I was being grumpy at Grumpy's. My thoughts are with all of his family and friends it is really so sad and shocking to lose such a young lively person too soon.

Maybe it's the loss or pregnancy that makes me a little more thoughtful but I think today is a good day for me to truly spend some time thinking about the people that come into our lives and what value they bring, or vice versa the negative people or energy in your life that are/should be expended. Life is far to short and/or precious. Although I know we are all guilty of being thoughtless and careless (myself included). I just think that it really can't hurt to be more generous in our lives. More generous with our "I love you's", our time, our kindness, our resources (monetary or otherwise), our smiles and waves to strangers, our listening ears and just about everything. Generosity and thoughtfulness are two things that really can make a difference in the lives of others which I think was not exemplified better in a person than in my friend Alex. I KNOW for a fact that he will be missed by so many people that had the pleasure of having them be part of their life (no mater how big or small).

Back to Blogging

So I have really given up on blogging since this summer but now that I am home everyday I think it is something I can commit daily time to. It will also give me another thing to add to my "busy" schedule of staying home and waiting for the baby to come. March 30th, 2009 is my official due date and the count down is on. Today I am officially 22 weeks along... I keep creeping closer. I am feeling really pretty good lately and according to my doctor couldn't be healthier and more ready to pop out a baby :) I can't wait!! I am sure that this abundance of free time I find myself having will quickly diminish as soon as Baby Nyquist arrives!!

I have internet again!!

I finally have internet out here in the sticks but not too much to do so I will hopefully have lots adn lots to put on here with updates :)

We have a house!!!

So, we have a house in Danube, MN as of Friday evening!!! So our plans are a go... We will be spending a majority of our weekends in April and May fixing it up in order to start moving this summer!!! Pics are coming!!

This past weekend :)

So, you realize that you are getting old when you have a weekend filled with stuff like I did this weekend. After sitting at teh Social Security Admin office for like 2 hours waitng to change the name on my card (finally) Paul and I decided to stay home on friday night. We cleaned the house and I made some chicken tacos (which were fab) But were in bed by 11:30 at the LATEST. Our saturday invloved playing raquetball at the gym, playing hearts with our friends Sarah and Brian, a few captain cocktails and again asleep by about midnight. Sunday, Is when i got really risque and went for lunch and Screwdrivers at Legend's, ran into a highschool class mate, then went to some local thrift store to look for stuff. Mom ended up finding a really cool vintage dresser for 25 bucks. I needs a little work but is a pretty awesome buy.

I had an awesome weekend but realized that I am not as nearly as exciteing as I used to be..oh well!! I guess we are growing up.

Can't WAIT!!! SPRING BREAK '09!!

Crazy Cross Women

Sadie had on open house/cocktail party at her office downtown. Brio Print (the company she works for) moved from the 5th to the 12th floor in teh Plymouth building downtown Mpls. It is an AWESOME OFFICE!! It made me jealous!! ANyways, there was a photo booth at the event so Me, my mom (Candy), Sadie and her girls Jada and Saniya dressed up and took some pictures. It was fun! Jada especially loved it becasue she is a little drama queen :)
