Custom Tutus For Sale
After making a no-sew tutu for Emmy Lu, I have decided that EVERY little girl MUST have one of these. They are just too cute, easy to make and reasonably price. If you want to make one yourself I highly suggest trying. For those of you who don’t have the time or simply don’t think you are crafty enough I have decided to make and sell them to friends and family who want to give one to the special little ladies in their lives. I think they would make awesome birthday or Christmas presents. I can make custom orders for any size and have a variety of colors on their way but can look at getting more or more specific colors if people request. Here is a picture of Emmy Lu’s first tutu using Hot Pink and French Pink. I plan on using it for her 3 month photos coming up but slipped it on over her jammies so you could get the idea.
Here are the sizes and prices: (prices include Shipping)
Newborn - 12 months $15.00
12 months - 3T $20.00
Size 4 and up- $22.00
Note: Each tutu’s supplies cost between 6-10 dollars depending on size so I am just charging a little bit for my time and shipping. I'm not trying to get rich here. I just want to make the world a cuter place.
Here are the colors I have available now. The tutu can be made of 1, 2, or 3 colors of your choice. As of right now (since I am waiting for my tulle to come in) I could have your custom made tutu made and shipped within 2-3 weeks tops.

Emerald Green
French Pink
Hot Pink
Lime
Orange
Purple
Red
Turquoise

Night School Widow
My husband works so very hard to provide for our family so that I can stay home and raise our kids like we want. That doesn’t mean their aren’t sacrifices. We are very smart with our $$ and have learned to spend very responsibly since getting married in 2008. A few months ago Paul joined the Duluth Pipefitter’s Union and has been busy working so hard. He loves the work and the advancements that are available to him. He is currently a second year apprentice and will be a fully licensed journeyman in 4 years. WHICH MEANS….I am a night school widow. 3 days a week he leaves the house @ 6 am and doesn’t get home till 9:30-10pm. That makes for long days for both him AND me and the kiddos. Plus it is hard for him not to see the kids (other than sleeping) for those days. As with anything we roll with the punches and are living with the changes. Our laid back attitudes are defiantly a plus in dealing with such a hectic schedule and time/labor-intensive little ones. I am starting to see why people call me crazy for having kids so close although I would have it any other way and are already in talks for #3. My motto: Bring on the craziness-kids, night school, activities, outings, crafts, messes…AKA LIFE!! I’ll take it all.
Sugar and Spice
and TUTUs right??
Dressing and finding clothes for a little girl is so much fun for me. Today I made my first tutu. It is one of two that I am making for Emmy Lu’s 3 month photos that I am taking next week. I don’t want to give it all away but here is a taste of my first homemade tutu.
I’m in LOVE with frills, flowers, and all things girly today.

A day in the life…
My days are filled with…
Diaper assembly (or rather disassembly) lines
scattered shoes, toys, books, etc
Half eaten lunches
Toddler sensory projects
a busy little boy playing
Mr Cow..He comes with EVERYWHERE!
Dishes, dishes and MORE dishes
Intense games of peek-a-boo
Girls that aren’t afraid to wear blue
Boys who aren’t afraid to cuddle with a soft pink blankie
But most of all they are filled with LOTS OF LOVE from these two sweet little people.

Warning: Stinky But Cute
That’s how I feel most days. Between the spit up and teething diapers (to put it nicely), and this cold they are fighting my kids can be pretty darn stinky most days…but they sure are cute. Here are some of the latest snapshots I took of the little tykes. Just be glad they haven’t invented scratch and sniff blogging yet.
To cry or not to cry…That is the question.
How you doin’???
Playdoh (“doh-doh” as he calls it) This was after coloring with markers but before eating with ketchup.
Like i said…eating with Ketchup. He loves his “dippin”.
Big yawn and….
I’m soooo over it Mom. Time for bed.
(As you can tell by his stains, dirt, etc..it’s been a long morning)

2 month Check Up
Today Emmy Lu had her 2 month check up and shots. She was very smiley at the doctor and nurse and is a sweet little girl all around. She is getting bigger and bigger each day and we are really starting to see her personality. Here are her 2 month stats:
Height: 22 inches 34th %
Weight: 11 lbs 3 oz 59th %
Head Circumference: 15.5 Inches 67%
I am happy to report that breast feeding is going extremely well and it is a great fit for us this time around. She is happy, healthy, continues to grow and bring our family immeasurable joy.
It’s totally a mom thing and maybe a grandma thing (but I wouldn’t know that yet) but the other day I was singing to her and rocking her-she gave me the biggest cutest smile that filled my heart with so much love that it made me get teary eyed. Lame but I love it!!!

Back here again
Anyone who knows me, knows that I go up and down with my weight. I was up, lost 45 lbs, stayed that way for quite a while and have been slowly creeping back up. Actually I shouldn’t say creeping, I shot back up and have stayed there since before having Tanner. I can’t even blame it on the kids either because I only gained 10-15lbs with each and lost it all right away. It is the rest of this darn weight that seems to be my problem. I am not blessed with a petite physique. I have these German hips and thighs that are great for doing tough girl jobs like rearranging furniture and carting around kids but as of late are a bit extreme for my taste.
So…I’m back here again.
Ready for a change.
Ready to get healthier.
Ready for more energy.
Ready to take some time for myself in order to have a happier, healthier family.
I don’t have grand (unrealistic) visions that I feel plague women.
I still love myself and love how I look MOST days.
I know I would still have all that love at a smaller size.
I know what I have to do.
I’ve done it all before….UGH!!
Time to write down what I put in my body, to treat food like fuel and make good choices.
Most importantly it’s time for me to GET MOVING!!! I stay busy with Tanner (which is probably why I haven’t ended up on Biggest Loser Yet), but I need to REALLY MOVE.
Sweat.
Get sore muscles.
Today I prepared to get shredded. I started Jillian Michael’s 30 day Shred Video. It is perfect for a busy lady like me. The INTENSE 20 minute workout can be easily snuck in during naptime (right between cleaning and blogging of course)
I’m kicking my own butt into gear (with Jillian’s help…she’s a little scary).
I am holding myself accountable and ready to go.
I don’t want to come back here again.
So, from time to time I will be posting my progress of my Operation: Get Healthy. It is more for myself and accountability than anything else but support and encouragement are never a bad thing. I also have taken a rather real (aka unflattering) BEFORE pic and plan and having noticeably different AFTER image. Depending on how brave I feel, I might..just might share these with my loyal blog buddies.
What a ZOO!!!
It’s true that some days I feel more like a zoo keeper than a mom. However yesterday I took the kids to the REAL zoo. My nieces are up staying with us for a week and my mom and I have been tag teaming keeping up with their crazy kid antics all week. Yesterday, I (me, solo, singular) took the crew on this zoo trip. We had a blast and with plenty of snacks, water, and stop for a nice cool Capri Sun the kids stayed happy and excited to see all the Zoo had to offer. The Lake Superior Zoo is nothing fancy but is surely a great and inexpensive way to spend the day. Here are some pictures I took…between chasing, feeding, explaining, and just trying to keep up with the kiddos.
