First Day- September 2013

Happy September folks!!

It sure felt like fall up in the Northland yesterday with a blast of fresh, cool air.  We spent the majority of the day outdoors, cutting down some trees, hauling brush, digging a new fire pit (and covering the old fire pit), picking vegetables at my neighbor Aunty Pam’s garden and playing.  Our kids are true outdoorsmen already and LOVED every second playing, getting muddy and finding creature.  You’ll see the jars they are holding in some photos.  Yesterdays creatures were a small snake that Paul caught and a grasshopper that I caught (I don’t do snakes….eww). We, of course, had to release them before heading in to bed so they could go find their snake and grasshopper mommies.

It was a really great day and makes me very thankful for our little family and our rural up north living.

  1. I love your adorable family! And am a ton jealous of cooler weather. I tried to make us have an outside day yesterday but its so humid and hot we were all miserable.
